AMERICAN EXPENSE ACCOUNT

The Presidential race is well underway and most of the country is deciding whom the Democratic Party will be represented by, however, has anyone ever given some legitimate thought to the amount of money that gets spent at election time in the United States of America?  A recent post on www.cnn.com has reported the current expense accounts for both the Democrats and the Republicans that are currently running for the prestigious position of bailing a country out of the position of most hated country in the free – well, entire world – AKA – The United States of America.  What is considered the richest country in the world (even though their war debt and capital spending are surpassing billions of dollars), is currently spending $103,575,011.00 on their Presidential Election.  You read right – over a hundred million dollars in order to get voters to place an X beside their name.  This money gets spent on television campaigns, posters, pins, hotel rooms and dinners at expensive restaurants while passing through Idaho.  In a comparison study – the Third World debt is currently sitting at $2,171 billion dollars – a debt that is keeping countries poor and not allowing them to ever better themselves in a dog eat dog world.  The current cost of the Iraq war has sent the USA into a debt of over $500,000,000.00, but clearly this money would be better spent on trying to convince the voting public to vote for your candidate.  The sad thing being that a good half of the money will be wasted as candidates lose and the money is already spent.  Public health care, better school systems or over a hundred million dollars spent on trying to make liars look a little nicer.  I think this makes society a little more sick.  Just thought you should know…
